Doctor Drew Devlin is not the respectable figure he makes out to be. The reason we moved to this beautiful, old property with a gorgeous view of the sea was because we needed to put our past behind us. It should\u2019ve been a fresh start for us both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Except I\u2019ve discovered my husband has been lying to me again. He\u2019s using the power he has in his job to mess with people\u2019s lives, and to get exactly what he wants \u2013 no matter who it hurts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But he\u2019s underestimated me. I\u2019ve had plenty of time, in this big, isolated house, to think about all of his mistakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have read Daniel Hurst books previously and thoroughly enjoyed them.
However, this one did not hold my attention. I had figured out the plot less than halfway in. I found myself getting bored and resorted to skimming sentences. There is way too much verbose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The storyline is good but the plot is too flimsy. The motive has been written many times before and the detectives coming across as too naive to consider the weak evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allowing the reader to know the killer halfway through gives it a different twist but I had already worked out the relationship between Rory and Fern by the time Daniel Hurst took us back six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
