Grady is desperate to become a NY bestseller and Abbey supports him wholeheartedly.  Calling his wife as she drives home he hears her suddenly slams on the brakes, she is not from home. Her call is still connected but getting no reply Grady decides to run the coast road until he finds her car, doors open, lights on, mobile still in the car.  Abbey has vanished. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One year later&#8230; still deep in grief and unable to write, his publisher suggests he take a break to a remote Scottish island to see if the solitude will help him write. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What a disturbing story though the butcher the bakery and the gift shop selling mainly candles was a nice touch and the irony was not lost on me.\u00a0<br>\u00a0I really felt for Grady and took a dislike to his wife Abbey.\u00a0 Flashing between Abbey&#8217;s and Grady&#8217;s stories was interesting, Her view was so different from his, making me wonder if he really know her true feelings.\u00a0 Abbey finding someone in the road was confusing, and it was even less believable when I read who it was.\u00a0 The end is really really disturbing\u00a0and a kin to a horror story.\u00a0 I liked Grady, he was focused and goal driven but so was Abbey, a couple whose only downfall was lack of communication between them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I struggled with the final twist,\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the book<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Author Grady Green is having the worst best day of his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grady calls his wife to share some exciting news as she is driving home. He hears Abby slam on the brakes, get out of the car, then nothing. When he eventually finds her car by the cliff edge the headlights are on, the driver door is open, her phone is still there. . . but his wife has disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A year later, Grady is still overcome with grief and desperate to know what happened to Abby. He can\u2019t sleep, and he can\u2019t write, so he travels to a tiny Scottish island to try to get his life back on track.
