About:
‘I did something terrible, Grace. I hope you can forgive me…’
Grace hasn’t been the same since the death of her best friend Charlie. She is haunted by Charlie’s last words, and in a bid for answers, opens an old memory box of Charlie’s. It soon becomes clear there was a lot she didn’t know about her best friend.
Review:
I picked a copy of this up in a quirky bookshop in Launceston Tasmania.
What a fantastic read, so well written.
I did get a little confused with the relationship between Grace and Lexie and Lyn, which wasn’t always clear-cut.
The story centres around Charlie, Grace’s friend, written from Grace’s view. Understandably, Grace is swallowed up in guilt and loss that she pushes her partner away, and in a moment of madness, he does the unthinkable. But was he really manipulated by Anna?
The plot becomes very clear towards the last two chapters, though at times I wondered with so many pages still read how it could keep going as it appeared to come to an conclusion several times during the book, however Louise managed to weave her magic and kept us wanting to read further.
