My Review:
As a florist I found some of the references to what flowers are used and the use of bleach in tulips a little out of date and incorrect.
That aside I love Pip Drysdale novels and this one really gripped me.
Zoe an unknown who missed out big with her first novel is trying to write a bestseller whilst dealing with writers block. Set in a florist shop where Zoe works with her boss and aspiring actor Vee, the author gives us in detail Zoe’s skill at making flower arrangements and Vee’s struggle to break into the world of movies.
By chance Zoe as to take Vee’s place at an event where they’ve organised all the flora displays. Movie star Zach Hamilton who Zoe just happens to know before his fame is also attending.
Zach’s next big movie is due out and he needs some good press.
When he sweet talks Zoe back into his life, the media explosion that follows watches her become bait in a deadly game as she gets entangled into a web of deceit and murder.
Her head is full of questions and confusion of who to trust throughout, bouncing from the charismatic Zach to his bodyguard Carlos who Zach has put in place to supposed protect her.
11 days later… the deadly game reaches its crescendo and Zoe’s writers block is lifted. Sitting at her laptop her bestseller floods out of her fingertips onto the pages. The book that gives Vee her big break and the police answers. But it comes at a cost.
