Review:

I was surprised at how short this book was wrapping up at 158 pages.
It’s fast-paced, gripping with a twist I didn’t expect. However, I felt it ended too quickly and wrapped up sharply, leaving me feeling a bit short -changed.

That doesn’t, however, detract from the fact that this is an excellent plot.

Samuel is growing up in a broken household, with dad Marko remarried and mum Lou bringing Samuel up on her own. Marko appears distant to his son whilst Lou is always on high alert, worrying about him.

Both parents harbour a dark secret that Samuel must never know. But Lou as brought Samuel up to never lie (which is an underlying theme throughout this story), and now he’s disappeared. Lou and Marko now must come together to find him knowing their secret could be exposed.

The story continues to tell us Samuel’s side even when he’s gone missing, giving you insight into what is happening to him as he slowly discovers his parents’ deepest dark lie.

Love makes us do crazy things.
