About:
Leaving behind their everyday lives, four friends hike out into the beautiful Norwegian wild – nothing between them and the mountain peak but forest, sea and sharp blue sky.
But there’s a darker side to the wilderness. A woman went missing here one year ago, scarring the mountain with suspicion and unanswered questions.
Now, the friends are hiking into the heart of the mystery. And waiting on the trail is someone who’d do anything to keep their secrets buried – and to stop the group walking away alive . . .
Review:
A real page turner, I didn’t want to put this down.
Running two perspectives parallel was very clever, lulling you into thinking they are on the same timeline.
The characters are cleverly brought to life with each having their own chapter, which continues throughout the story, weaving along with flashbacks to their friendship, their families and why each ended up having a need to undertake the hike.
The atmosphere and location are written in a way it is visually spectacular, and you find yourself immersed in the surroundings as if you’re there.
You can feel your own anxiety and heartbeat picking up the pace, whilst you feel like you are enduring the cliffhangers with the same adrenaline the four are feeling.
This is Lucy Clarke at her best..
