My Review
I struggled with this. The story is brilliant, the shocks and twists continue, but it didn’t grip me, I could put it down and leave it for a couple of days. Adele has however weaved family dramatics, past infidelities and current mistakes well. The final chapters I couldn’t get on board with, Connie and John taking matters into their own hands and the aftermath. How could Zac walk after the beating to reach his father, I got the impression he was completely broken, why did the gunman kill his own men first and not Connie, Fran and Zac?
It wrapped up with a bow a bit too neatly for me.
