My review:

Gripping.  I took every opportunity to listen to this.

I love how each character plays a big role, the whole story centres around several people not one person.

I love how Claire doesn’t leave us hanging but wraps the story up.

I thought at first I was reading something akin to Fred and Rosemary Wests story and was bracing myself for the gruesome details but no, this is a more tender  heartbreaking story of undying love albeit it wrapped around a more sinister outline. I started to feel sorry for Henry truly believing he was at the mercy of his wife.

Charlie, Rufus and Lena haven’t listened to each other during their marriage, unknowingly pulling in opposite directions , clues in the story I’d completely missed.  They seemed to just be normal dealing with a teenager.

Henry and Marielle appeared sinister from the start and Lena’s innocence annoyed me for not listening to her inner voice.

About:

ou know your neighbours are plotting a crime but no one believes you . . .

When Lena helps her teenage son gather sounds for his media studies project, she doesn’t expect her boom-microphone to pick up a conversation between her neighbours, the Morgans.

And she’s certain they are planning a crime.

Her family and friends tell her that she must have misheard. After all, the Morgans are a well-respected, upstanding couple in their early sixties. They’ve never been in trouble with the law.

Yet Lena can’t stop thinking about it. Because what if she hasn’t misheard? What if she can prevent something awful happening?
