What a great read, Techno-Thriller and Fantasy rolled into one seamlessly.
When a book starts with a vague reference to some “tech”, it sounds like there is no promise of substance later. I was wrong; the substance grows with every chapter.
Two species, one planet, one ancient, one needs the other to survive.
The Human and hidden worlds collide in many ways. Secrets, that if brought out into the open could start wars, could end civilisation.
The descriptions of the everyday are superb, “Stillnes closed in like a held breath”. “It was the silence. The kind that watched you”. These are two quotes from the book, that made reading become a feeling, it made the words have weight, heft, and you feel like you can sense the atmosphere.
I highly recommend this incredibly well written and gripping thriller by Greg Marshall.
