About:

Framed for murder. Now she’s free . . .

A woman attends a funeral, standing in the shadows and watching in agony as her sons grieve. But she is unable to comfort them – or reveal her secret.

A decade earlier, Heather gets her children ready for bed and awaits the return of her husband Liam, little realising that this is the last night they will spend together as a family. Because tomorrow she will be accused of Liam’s murder.

Ten years ago Heather lost everything. Now she will stop at nothing to clear her name – and to get her children back . . .

My Review:

How have I never come across T.M.Logans books before. The Mother had me gripped, every available moment I was keen to read it and ended up staying up until 2am to finish it.

I did not see the ending coming at all.

Heather is a determined mother and challenging the police investigation puts the retired detectives back up, I expected him to crumble but he remained as steadfast as he had during the investigation.

The media creating their own narrative and painting Heather as a wife out for revenge. This story weaves so well, I could picture the characters.

I had a vision of Owen being like Cormoran Strike but without the disability and a journalist rather than a detective. Jodie was so likeable and so sad at the same time.

I am grateful that the author didn’t dwell on Heathers prison time, instead referencing it periodically throughout but focusing on the here and now.
